Colonial Harbor Marina

Colonial Harbor Marina is located in a protected quiet cove on the Chickahominy River in New Kent County, Virginia.  They offer a complete array of amenities and services, including short and long hauling of a wide variety of boats, wet/dry boat storage, and boat repair.

Ed Allen’s Campground

Ed Allen’s Campground and Cottages is a family-owned campground located along the beautiful shores of Chickahominy Lake. Ed Allen’s features two fully stocked ponds, a private boat ramp on Chickahominy Lake, a lakeside restaurant and kayak and boat rentals.

Rockahock Campground & RV Park

Rockahock Campground and RV Resort Park is on the banks of the Chickahominy River.  They feature fishing, boating, canoeing, and swimming on the beautiful Chickahominy River and live musical entertainment from the Amphitheatre stage throughout each camping season.

Wahrani Nature Park

On rainy afternoons, mist enshrouds the fern-blanketed hills in the 138-acre park, evoking the Smoky Mountains rather than Tidewater Virginia. A bird- and nature-watchers paradise, the Park’s trails lead hikers past old-growth trees, identified with markers, to a sweeping overlook and a pair of colonial graves.

Golfers currently have four golf courses including two award-winning, championship courses to choose from.

Brickshire Golf Club

The Tradition Golf Club at Brickshire, a Curtis Strange signature course is easily explained in two words: "player friendly.” Adjacent to Royal New Kent, it’s near I-64 at Exit 214.

Royal New Kent

The Tradition at Royal New Kent has been called "the truest representation of an Irish links in America. Adjacent to Brickshire it’s near I-64 at Exit 214.

The Club at Viniterra

The Club at Viniterra is an 18-hole championship course designed by acclaimed golf course architect Rees Jones, it's located 1-mile north of I-64 Exit 211.

Brookwoods Golf Club

Brookwoods Golf Club is a well maintained and popular daily play course in the county’s west end near I-64 Exit 205.

Horseback Riding Facilities

Cedar Grove Stables

Cedar Grove Stables at Cedar Grove Plantation was the home of Letitia Christian Tyler, wife of our 10th President, John Tyler. Open year-round, you can take a guided horseback tour to view the plantation and see their circa 1700 home as you ride through this beautiful Virginia countryside.

Fox Pointe Farm

Fox Point Farm offers a variety of services including boarding, training, riding instruction, show coaching and children's summer and weekend camp programs. Their programs are tailored to meet the needs of all ages and levels from beginning to accomplished riders.

White Horse Stables

White Horse Stables is a small, private farm offering English riding lessons for beginner to advanced intermediate riders. Other services include trail riding, pony parties, boarding and opportunities to learn the principles of foxhunting.

A Great Place to Cycle

In 2010 New Kent launched a unique bike trail system for avid bicyclists. New Kent is the first county in Virginia to have fully mapped and signed bicycle routes.

These bike routes, ranging from 15- to 100-miles, start and end at the New Kent Visitors and Commerce Center on Vineyards Parkway at I-64 Exit 214.

New Kent County Airport

Private, commercial and corporate pilots enjoy using New Kent County Airport, W96, which boasts a 3,600 by 75 foot lighted, paved runway and parallel taxiway. Just less than 10-miles from Richmond International Airport, W96 is located near Colonial Downs, New Kent Vineyards, and all four New Kent golf courses.

By calling ahead the airport personnel can, in most cases, arrange transportation or rental car. There are 44 tie-downs and hangers for rent, and 24-hour self-serve 100LL fuel.
